Early in the year 2000, The John Robinson Group Inc. refined our practice to focus on the needs of business owners only.In this process, we realized we needed;
1. A community of inspiring, forward-looking and supportive Professionals to work with us;
2. Business owners, executive and entrepreneurs to serve;
3. A reservoir of professionals who were honest, caring and competent who made these qualities the center and core of their life and work.
We have found all three in the formation of Trusted Advisor Network™. In 2002, we were awarded the Canadian trademark for Trusted Advisor™. The Trusted Advisor™ Network is based on two bodies of work, the book, "The Trusted Advisor", by David H. Maister and "The Speed of Trust", by Stephen Covey.
We have found that when trust is present, things move very smoothly and very fast. When trust was absent not only did things go badly, the process slowed down.
As we reorganized the speciality of The Robinson Group Inc. practice, it became apparent we needed to create a network of other leading edge professionals around us. We began a search to find leading edge professionals in all the complementary disciplines that we need to work with, Investment Advisors, Accountants and Lawyers.
After 30-years experience in the insurance field, we find ourselves reaching out almost daily to one or more of the other Advisors in the Network. This has been a grand idea that really works.
